It's because very few CD versions were sold.

I can understand having once been inclined to collect every release including promos ,misspressings etc by certain artists in the hope of having " everything " they release why people will pay over the odds for that elusive or obscure or different recording..
That said why people collect the "now thats what i call average " releases beats me .. that is the only explanation i can think as to why this is up to £370 ..though i will be looking out for these in my local junk, charity shops from now on.

if you have a copy of this CD on eba y 251175198605 then you could be in for a monir windfall

Yes indeed each to his own,, I would suspect these are bought more by a collector of items rather than a music collector . i may be wrong but collectors of artists generally stick to origional artist releases not compilations..

Yes I would agree with you although there are people, rather than dealers, who would want as complete collection of something as can be had.

Mind you if you look at the completed auctions there was one that didn't sell recently for £230 maybe the demand is falling off.

I have just looked it up on Amazon, its what you call taking the P155 .That said it only needs one person with more money than sense. Then again its like paintings going for 20 million quid,to me its a picture stuck on a wall.

PS I may me coming down to Hythe soon if the offer of a coffee still holds. My friend who lives round the corner from you has still got big problems with his ticker and needs another op(No 6) they are now talking about a transplant !!!
It's because at the time of release most ntwicm4 issues were either bought on cassette or vinyl. Number 4 was the first one to be released on cd and because it's target audience were generally school children non of them would have cd players.
Now 4 on cd is a very sought after item.
Exactly as Ronnies said. As I was a schoolchild at the time and we had a CD Player, hence I was the 'target-audience!. Anyway, I've got a copy of this. It was hard to find and only available for a short while. And its got Ghostbusters on it!
Lots of early CDs are now worth a fair bit just because they're a bit rare. For example, I also have a copy of the first CD release of Abbey Road from 1983. It is still sealed with its OBI. Probably worth a bit.
