HiRes FLAC question

Posted by: Allram61 on 08 November 2012

Hi

I buy HiRes cd´s (FLACK) through Hdtracks.com and store it on my NAS. i Use my UnitiSeve as the server and stream it using ND5-XS. Now i read in different posts that naim likes wav better then flac. Do anyone know if this even means HiRes flacs (24bit 96-192khz)?? And if so what program will convert it best?

Thanks for help

Magnus

Rumour has it that Naim streamers can even take severe damage by being served FLAC files ....

Easiest to use is foobar 2000. Then there are also EAC an dbPoweramp as the major players.

WTF

See if your NAS can transcode to WAV and see what you think. Or use dbpoweramp to convert an album and see if you can tell any difference. But i think the hampster is pulling your leg, arm and everything else with that statement

Rumours like this are better started on a social networking site, not on a forum frequented by knowlegable gentlemen.
