Anyone want to buy the box set for £50,000 ... only joking, it is not for sale.

Will you take Turkisk Lira?

Thanks CBR, but I'll hang on for a while ... I like the music too much.

I get quite annoyed in my quiet sort of way about these inflated prices ... my Shirley Collins box set has gone through the roof too.

I'd prefer it if these sets were available to fans at sensible prices 'cos I know that Sandy (if she were still with us) and Shirley (who thankfully is) would want this.

I think Sandy Denny vies with Nigel Blackwell, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Ray Davies,  John Flansburgh and John Linnell as the finest songwriter I have been lucky enough to hear, and if we say singer/songwriter then she is peerless. Yet there are people who have never heard of her

After all Led Zeppelin's greatest ever track - the Battle of Evermore - had Sandy on lead vocals. Even Robert Planet admitted she was the greatest.

All the best, Guy

Overall a very good concert with some fabulous performances but hated the version of Who Knows etc.

I had never heard of Lavinia Blackwell ,but I was really impressed with her later songs in the concert.

I watched the whole concert and the chicks before and Fairport after in bed on my screen last night with my son.

Brilliant.

Lavinia is the lead singer of Trembling Bells. A very good live band. They have also performed as Bonnie Prince Billy's backing group and recorded this album with him which is worth a listen.

All the Trembling Bells albums are excellent - my favourite is Abandoned Love, which is their second album. They are the modern equivalent to a Sandy led Fairport. I thought Lavinia was the best thing at the concert. I find it quite hard to listen to a concert like that one - as I'm always comparing the acts, who are doing their best, with one of the greatest of them all ... when all sia and done I'd sooner listen to Sandy's studio recordings of those songs. It is a bit like somebody repainting the Mona Lisa. Still it was a good effort by all concerned.

I liked the documentary on Fairport - even if I am unlikely to think kindly of Ashley Hutchings - can't deny he is a fine musician though. Richard Thompson though is a fine musician and Swarbs is a legend.

Still well done the BBC for showing some folk music on BBC4 and steadfastly supporting the genre.

That earlier documentary on girl singers was very good - though I never quite understand the appeal of Suzi Quatro ... I can think of lots and lots of better female artists including this lot

Guy,

I did lots of work for NC & MC in the 70s. They were the hit factory of that time.

Loads of free passes to gigs.

I put lots of kit in there homes and work place.

One of your fav bands (The Hollies) members was always in the place when i popped in for coffee

The thing is She can play.

One of the best free gigs ever at Hammersmith Odeon .

The buggers on the door nearly didn't let me in.

The hair doo  let her down imo.
