How many controller devices on NDS

Posted by: JeremyT2 on 10 November 2012

Just added a NDS with the HDX as server. Phenomenal sound quality - hitting CD555 level.

One query is their a limit to the number of devices using  the n-stream app that can be connected? I have a first generation iPod touch, iPhone 5 and iPad 2 all with app on but cannot get more than one to connect at the same time.

The HDX lets me have all connected plus sons' iPhones.

Thanks

I'd never bothered trying before, but it does seem that you can only have one device running nStream connected at a time. Tried it with iPhone and iPad - either works fine, but not both.

Ummm...maybe this is a silly observation but...at any one time any streamer should only be controlled by one device right? After all, it's the client which is rendering some content, so you don't want everybody trying to choose different content at the same time do you? Or do you? Perhaps you want to all be contrbuting to a playlist at the time, queueing up content or something - but something tells me that's pretty improbable.

The HDX, on the other hand, is a server which can serve multiple devices at once so it seems reasonable to be able to attach to it and interact with it in multiples.

Forgive me if I'm being thick...

iPad by listening chair, iPod on desk, iPhone in pocket. I leave iPad always connected but wander around as the back end of my listening room is my office. So tend to pick up nearest controller.
