Room Amplifier nnp01
Posted by: Marplot on 12 December 2012
Hallo erstmal,

In addition, I haven't seen many questions around NNP01 room amplifiers.

Oh, I thought it is the German Naim Forum. Always switching between the German and the English Forum.
Here are my questions in english. Hope you can understand my English. My understanding is much better then my writing.
I have a used Naim NNP01. I want to integrate the NNP01 in my stereosystem as Ampifier.
I have no other Naim Products. Is there any chance to contol the Naim without a Naim Streamingserver (Volume, Source, Balance...)?
There are a several control inputs
(IR in front, wired IR in the back, Ethernet LAN, DigiLinXTM-compatible EIM port).
I tried to control the NNP01 with the iLinx App for iPhone. But my Network (FritzBox) didnt recognize the Naim in the LAN. There is no ping-able IP-Address.
Thanks for your support.

If you have not already found the manuals they can be downloaded from here.
Scroll to the bottom of the page for the links.
I have not used any of these units so would not be able to answer your question directly.

Thank you Peter,
I alreddy found that dokumentation but there is no usermanual in the WWW thats discribe exactly how to connect to a LAN. My Router does not recognize the Amp even when I connect directly to a PC there is no NNP01 found. And so he didn't get a IP-Adress and the possibility to control.
Next chance is to connect with are programmable IR-Remote. But there is no dokumentation about the exactly codes only the kind of IR-Codes (Philips RC5) are found.
The possibility to connect with EIM Port by NetStreams/KeyLinX or a Streamingserver by Naim is to expensive for me now.
Best Regards

Hello Thielko
You may not get a lot of help on the forum as being a NaimNet product there are of course far fewer users, and those there are, likely had their kit professionally installed.
I have seen screenshots of setup using I think it was called - Digi-link system setup – this would be done by the dealer though from memory.
It might be an idea to either ask a Naimnet dealer or your Distributor for advice or email Naim direct and ask if they would advise on your options.
Sorry can’t be more helpful.

Hello all,
Just joined, having just bought a load of Naimnet to retrofit into my Digilinx equpiped apartment. I am looking forward to participating in what seems like a highly informative forum.
Thielko,
I'm a bit late coming to this but have you tried the resources at Netstreams/ClearOne - http://www.clearone.com/residential_digilinx and http://www.clearone.com/resource_library ? There is quite a lot here, although Naim might have altered some of the protocols.
Worth a look anyway.

Hi Guys,
NaimNet is a custom install product and as such it should be installed by a trained installer. The software to set up and configure a NaimNet / NetStreams system is only available to registered installers who have completed the NetStreams university course.
If you have any questions on the application of NaimNet products please contact me (phil.harris@naimnet.com) directly.
To complete the circle as it were, to answer the original poster it is not possible to use an NNP01 as a standalone amplifier outside of a NaimNet / NetStreams setup.
Cheers
Phil
