The Mayans were actually pretty good at predicting events. For instance they correctly predicted that BL would offer a fifth-gear option on the Austin Metro in 1987. 

What they actually predicted was that '86-87 would be a 'boom year' ....so they were right on that count, just not that it would be restricted to a minor nations nationalised motor industry.  G

The World is ending. Before I go, I must let you all know that St John's Wood underground station is the only station in London that doesn't contain letters from the word Mackerel.

She is Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, a Chilean-born girl who was raised by Italian-American parents on Staten Island, NY, and became the "star" of a reality TV aberration called "Jersey Shore", which details the mawkish hi-jinx of a group of "guidos" (Italian-Americans) from northern New Jersey and Staten Island, the latter of which is my home town. I believe the combined IQ of everyone on the show totals in the 85-90 range, and it is an embarrassment to Americans of Italian heritage, especially putting my home town in a bad light...

The fact that this troglodyte was able to breed seemed indicative of the veracity of the Mayan apocalyptic predictions.

Disclaimer: I have never watched the show (nor would I ever), but it generated  enough publicity in the USA that one could easily find out about it.  A sign of the demise of the American Empire.  (One of many.)
