What's Your Favorite Album Cover & Why.

I have been thinking about starting this thread for sometime, So here goes.
When I first saw this cover, which is a gate fold. The inside picture of Ry and the girl, with the top down on the car, sat in the sun made me want to move to California ASAP.
Graham.
FZ used a similar motif as well:
And only now, after posting, did I notice for the first time that the markings on the cow look like the map of Italy & Sicily!
Drawn by Klaus Voormann; artist and bassist on several of the post-Beatle solo LPs.
The Abbey Road cover is a close second favorite to this.
Thanks Joe,
you spared me posting...

One of my favourite albums - MCA 180gm
Original cover courtesy of Lois K. Richman
From '76. One of the best debut albums ever. Another example of the power of keeping it simple: just a stark, monochrome Robert Mapplethorpe photo. Hugely effective.
Patti looks like a female Keith Richards (and I mean that in a good way).
That's one of my favourites. But I'm surprised no-one has suggested this....
Maybe overhyped? But I think it is great.
You made me realise 12" single, My bloodyValentine. Allways liked the slightly sinister edge this cover has with the flowers girl and knife.. i may be looking at it to deeply.
Feed me with your kiss, My bloody valentine,, no reason other than i find the cover picture fits perfectly with the title.
Looking cruel and friendly at the same time:-
Brilliant Album and intriguing packaging / imaging.
I also bought this album strictly based on the cover art. ( Roger Dean )
I hurried home and put this on and only to discover the record had an off-centre hole so I had to go all the way back to the city and replace it.
Same along the line, but H.R. Giger's work had a stronger impact on me complete with a cool die cut.
I bought the Yes album on the strength of the album cover too (often a huge mistake) but happily the cost was worth it for 'Soon' alone.

Sniper,
I just picked up that Al Stewart from the s/h shop Saturday!
Another great Hipgnosis cover:
There are so many but here are a few:
Where I lived every male at certain age had this in mid 70's (many memories attached)
Art meets rock
Since London Calling was already picked I had to choose this (although as music I prefer Clash).
iconic to me with the fold out sleeve's

I hope you got a good one and that you enjoy it. It is probably my favourite non-classical music album of all time.
Artwork by Neon Park.
Both these album have iconic covers imo.
Graham.
More Neon Park artwork:
Much of what is life was about between good and evil, sorting out his demons.
This cover really made me want to get this album - fortunately the music was also good, although Baby Batter is better IMHO.
I'm quite fond of this enigmatic sleeve for a 1981 LDDC compilation by Benoit Hennebert...
The Neon Park covers rightly get a lot of attention, but I love the irony of this.
And the hidden meaning as well as the beauty of this.
These 3 albums come to mind as ones I've purchased on the solely on strength of their cover art, with no prior knowledge of the bands or their music. The first two have become firm faves.
This last one is a very recent release and so, in my view at least, the art of the cover is not yet dead even in this post CD age we are entering.
