Won't Play Some FLAC files that it played yesterday!

Posted by: Andrew P.. on 24 December 2012

My Qute is really starting to annoy me - the latest issue is that a 24/44.1 FLAC album that played perfectly well yesterday will no longer play - the error message is "Can't play - unsupported file format"

This is clearly rubbish & I can't understand a bit of electronics that chooses whether to work or not.

There has been no change to the set up & other FLAC files are (currently) playing fine

Has anyone seen this issue before / got any ideas?

I am seriously thinking of getting rid of it & something that actually works

Merry Christmas.

This does happen sometimes - reboot your music server or NAS - switch UQ off and then on.

standard operating procedure from NASA downwards.

oh and relax  it's Christmas

Have you ever had a wordprocessor or spreadsheet freeze up for no apparant reason ?

Even in the aeroplanes that I fly, the EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System) sometimes screw up.

A re-boot usually gets things working again (and is standard procedure from Cessnas to A380s !!!!)

If a re-boot doesn't work and it has to go back to the factory, well then I might consider other options.

Cheers

To be honest-  never had this problem with my Linn MDS or with my KDS! This box runs for month without rebooting my NAS or my Streamer

Merry Christams,

Squeezeboxes also seem to be more stable in operation than some aircraft electronics.

Interesting. I've had a 'Qute since they first hit the market and have never encountered this issue with it, or with my NDS. Are you sure this is not an issue with your NAS drive?
