Did anyone check out the Sound-Quality of these LPs???

I have the first 4 on original German Big SWIRL-Vertigo 1st pressings...near_mintish...

Will the new ones come near them in terms of SQ???

Tempted to buy the new set...

Wow...I just listened to my recently arrived UK 1st pressing of "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"...I never heard this record like that.

By unbelievable luck and ho9nestly not too much Euros, I am now the lucky owner of the first 5 LPs as UK 1st pressings in fantastic condition..

I will sell all the other copies soon... and I am even more happy that I didn´t buy the box...

Wow...I just finished listening to Vol.4....It has the words "Porky" & "Pecko" hand-etched in the groove, so it really is a true 1st pressing...

The sound is so good...in fact, the German 1st SWIRL sounded not even slightly as good as this...what went wrong???

All pressings (except the newer RHINO by Kevin Gray) sound "muffled" and dark compared to this "revelation"...

The original 1st pressing it is for sure.

Notes:

Gatefold sleeve cover. "WWA 005 Super De Luxe" written on back top-right cover. => YEP.

"Manufactured and Printed in England" printed on bottom back cover. => YEP.

'WWA' letters on the top centre of the labels in a silver colour with "WWA005" written at 3 o'clock position. => YEP.

Inner lyrics sleeve with bottom corners square shaped at 90 degrees; the top corners are shaped at 45 degrees for easier replacement in the cover. => YEP.

The search ended.

I just received the UK 1st pressing of Master of reality.

My God...what an awesome sound. My German Swirl and the Rhino are wiped away...
I never heard MOR like this...so the myth is TRUE...

Nice Pics Thorsten. Just Sabotage to go then.

I picked up a spaceship S/T and a white lettered WWA SBS for £4 each the other day and even thou S/T's a 5th press and SBS is a 3rd press i now get what you mean about the Rhino's sounding dark.

Someone said the spaceship s/t used the stampers from the first press as there's no gap between

Behind the wall of sleep and NIB. Maybe they did but the vinyl is a lot thinner the the first press.

The hunt for UK first starts now.

Sabotage just shipped out from the UK...

I still have these Rhinos here: S/T, MoR, Vol 4 and SBS. I admit that they sound really very good (except MoR) and for about 25€ they are a bargain, admitted. Although they are now getting difficult to get...

BUT if you hear a true UK 1st pressing, they dwindle to the size of a little rice corn...I am not just "arrogantly" babbling or rambling.

If you have a very good TT and a Superline as a PRE-AMP, you hear these differences, no arrogance intended.

I also still have S/T and MoR as fantastic German original SWIRLS. They sound better than the Rhinos, but they too have no chance at all against the UK 1sts.

For example, MoR sounds horrible on the Rhino re-press, pretty good on the German Swirl but what I heard yesterday when I spinned the UK 1st, I was blown away by the DYNAMICS, the SEPARATION, the SOUNDSTAGE...the huge airy "soundbubble"...you can look/hear "into the music"...unbelievable.

It really is a kind of mystery...I know that the spaceship-copies have the same stamper.

I had the S/T, Paranoid and SBS as spaceship pressings. They sounded good, but NEVER like what I hear now.

But I refused to pay more than 80-90€ for a 1st pressing.

S/T is VG++, Paranoid NM, MoR VG+, Vol 4 VG++ and SBS is NM-.

That is fine with me.

Have now got a 1st press MOR and a 3rd press Paranoid. MOR is every thing you said it was, I've never heard it sound as good.

3rd press Paranoid is the one with a small swirl on reverse with vetigo under the swirl.It looks like the used the 1st stampers for this as there is no gap between Hand of Doom and Rat Salad.

One thing i have noticed on the spaceship S/T is the B side sound is so much more powerful the the A side bit strange,
