Music via USB input

i currently connect a portable hard drive filled with music FLAC files into the USB inputs of my Uniti as source. The result is good.

 

Just wondering if sound quality could be improved if instead i stream the music from my NAS or use the optic out from mac mini as source?

I doubt it, otherwise he wouldn't be asking.............

 

No harm in asking before going out to source and buy an expensive interconnect, going through all the trials and tribulations etc.

I haven't, as i was hoping to reduce the amount of trial and error by reading about other people's experience.

Look for a post by Dave Dever in the last 12-18 months.  He explains the technical reasons why ethernet is a better feed than USB.
