What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Yep. I love her song writing as much as her singing. Politics and poetry with warmth and humour....and cutting teeth.

Ah yes. The good old days. I just loved how it seemed the tape would cycle in the middle of the best songs on the album.

Not very familiar with the 4th much. I vaguely recall the Lenny/VPO set. It has a tendency to get lost between two popular Eroica and the 5th. Time to discover what's this about. Starting with Toscanini again.

Great record; Mingardo's voice a real miracle.

The only problem that Pergolesi lived in Naples; so this Bach-cantata-style is wonderful but not 100% true I think.

Rather this one. Delivers true 'Napolitan' feeling.

Both ones highly recommended.
