With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

This has to be one of the best sounding records in my collection. The vinyl is that thin it is almost like a " flexi disc" but boy is it good.

Original Vinyl.

Good (Schumann very good) but still ambivalent over the ECM house sound.

Le Nuove Musiche - printed in Florence 1601.

Early record; the first Basel-based generation; M.F.voice has full of miracle; and this type of voice/ornamentation is quite rare on any records.

Highly recommended.

Ryan Adams "Ashes & Fire"

a prolific songwriter, not always the highest quality, but

this is a good group of songs, simple production, a seemingly

more mature artist, makes for good listening

Spoon "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga"

Britt Daniels knows how to write an infectious pop/rock song.

quality.

Hi Jeff,

I really like Ashes & Fire, excellently produced by Glyn Johns. I also like Ryan's earlier album '29', a more stripped back affair, assisted by the playing & production by Glyn's son Ethan Johns.

...and Ethan has made his own stripped down solo album - If Not Now Then When?
