What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

ATB - Denis

Hello Denis

Both on my list, will eventually get there, but on any given day my mind drifts.  Hoping to get Spotify back soon to enjoy "29", I love the John's family body of work, saw Ethan a few years back playing drums for Ray LaMontagne.  Time and money - I will get there.

Having perused this thread back a bit and had a good nose around Pitchfork I have found a few new albums to sample. This is one I am enjoying right now. Good female singer songwriter, puts me in mind of Neko Case, Cat Power and Liz Phair.

An amazingly moving performance by Tenebrae. For a label that seems to focus on commercial opportunities, this seems unusually artistic and very welcome.

Cheers,

Hello Bert,

Who won? Lang Lang or the News Paper.

CDs 1 and 2. I remember listening to some of these as presented by the Goddess Amati. Simply stunning.

Regards,

Mark

Gesualdo - the master of 'chromatics' - killed his wife and her lover...

Otherwise very good music; one of the strangest composer I've ever listened on CDs.
