With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Paavali Jumppanen, Klavier

Sibelius: Impromptu op. 5 Nr. 5
Wagner / Liszt: Isoldens Liebestod
Beethoven: Klaviersonate Nr. 30

Berliner Meister Schallplatten 180g Pallas vinyl.   Finnish pianist, Paavali Jumppanen, chose the repertoire for his first Direct-to-Disc recording with several aspects in mind:

»I wanted to include those compositions for which I feel a special affinity in this new and exciting project. At the same time, I wished to put together a programme which would revive memories of the ‘Golden Age’ of the gramophone record.«
