What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

First spin.

OUTSTANDING.

The famous 'coal mine blues' of Muntagna Nera.

Although they finished in 1983, Björn Schmelzer reunited this legendary group once more with the voice and strings of Graindelavoix.

Graindelavoix can handle 13c. early polyphony and coal mine blues very well.

The original lounge before there was lounge music.

Had this record for ages. I need to be the right mood for Bach and Liszt.

  • Bach - Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (BWV 565)
  • Liszt - Fantasia on B-A-C-H
  • Bach - Chorale Prelude (BWV 639)
  • Bach - Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor (BWV 582)

A brilliant piece of music. Transcendent. And dne of the best recorded pop records of all time. Hugely dynamic.

My first play and it is wonderful.

What a coincidence.

I listened it this morning.

Then a friend arrived to have a Naim listening.

Firstly I showed from this record; the last track. Only a minute but full of miracle.

Now her another CD.

Extremly good.
