Just found this 33rpm 12" in a box of knackered discs and dupes I was given years ago. It's totally mint and sounds fantastic. Nice when that happens.

A brilliant piece of music. Transcendent. And dne of the best recorded pop records of all time. Hugely dynamic.
+1 for this album and artist. I don't think she ever quite reached these heights again, but then again who else has?
The girlish voice, the "seen it all" attitude, the worldly but optimistic lyrics, bohemian chic, the tunes the tunes...................... OK, I was besotted!,
Can't agree with quality of the recording, though. If I remember correctly this was one of the early-ish (about two years in?) all-digital multi-track ones on the 3M system, as per Ry Cooder's "Bop Till You Drop". I seem to remember that this was 16-bit capable split 12/4 for some technical reason I probably won't understand. IMO, they both have a glossiness, lack of depth and odd-sounding reverb.
If one recording should have been analogue with a modern hi-def digital transfer, then this is it.
