What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Is it better than either the original US pressing or Acoustech Steve Hoffman release?

I saw that MoFi is going to come out with a 45rpm version.

Vinyl "Pure Pleasure Reissue"

Not a big fan of  William Orbit. However this 90's CD is a good album to chill out too.  It is imaginative, creative and entrancing ambient music. Like (Strange Cargo III) it also features Beth Orton's 'swishy vocals'' .

I'd forgotten I had this. Was going to listen to the sublime Let England Shake when I noticed this. I remembered thinking it was shite on first impressions. Thought to myself "that can't be right if Let England Shake is anything to go by". Decided to give it another go. Still shite. Until I realised it's 45rpm.  Just discovered another great album. Nowhere on the packaging, label or vinyl does it say 45rpm. Most odd.

I

G & D (sounds like a great name for a clothing co.)

It's a brilliant album if you like Electronica but on a heavier scale.

One of the highlights of Davis' and Carreras' recording careers, on par with their famous Werther.

and earlier in the afternoon; a quick plug for Pollini's sincere, unadorned, D960.
