What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

maze,

How do you rate John Deere?

On vinyl, from 1976.  I haven't heard this on the airwaves for decades.

Yes, I like this one by Al Stewart.  My wife can't stand him - says he's a middle-class prat wallowing in drawing-room angst.  I think that's why I like him - reminds me a bit of my own embarrassing past.

Gosh, I was so much wiser then.....

Don, dark downtown York.

I listened to this LP for the first time in a long time today as well. Good recording.

Yes, Alan Parsons produced it.

On to this now, on vinyl.  My first BB King album!  Quite enjoyable.

"The most fantastic modern dub from West Country reclusive genius Ott, whos album really is over the top in quality, depth and shinning brilliance. Spacey strings, chants, otherworldly noises and pertinent samples collide with his massive rub a dub beats and bass."

Would not argue with that

David,

Yes a great album and one that i have not listened to for about 10 years until tonight.
Never saw him live but did see his friends, Gong, about 6 or 7 times.

The lead singer of To Kill A King, Ralph Pelleymounter, recorded a series of video's made on the Balcony of his London Flat. The recordings have been made available to download via the TKAK bandcamp page, with profits going to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.

To Kill A King were one of the many new discoveries I made last year and are able to back up their talents with excellent live performances. I'm seeing them again in April at the Scala, where the crowd generate a great atmosphere.
