What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

I got this sent to me by a jazz friend and it came with his highest recommendation. Incorporates Coltrane style improvisational jazz with samples of Scared gospel music amongst other things. It has garnered some fantastic reviews in the US and I don't wonder why. Stunning stuff IMHO.

Hi Tony, I've no idea who's on the cover (!), but the album is Andy Stott's Luxury Problems, a favourite from last year. I tried embedding a hidden link into the cover, but I can't remember how to do it.

Not much like his earlier stuff, but it's mostly pretty good, especially the last track, 'Leaving'. Here's a review: http://www.residentadvisor.net...w-view.aspx?id=11911

Thanks, Chief.

Just had a quick listen to a few tracks. Great  fusion of dub,  techno and good old trip-hop. Very serene.   Will have a proper listen  later on.
