Came across this in HMV and not having heard it for more than 20 years I thought I give it another try. I remember being a bit cool on my old vinyl version. Thought a CD played through the much, much system I have now might reveal hidden riches in Caravanserai that I'd missed previously. Nope. Never mind - the CD was cheap.

Carmignola playing a selection of Vivaldi's last concertos, with a new band in support. Happy to say that Dantone is proving to be a more interesting conductor than keyboard player.
Cheers,

The jury on this recording finally came in... magnificent performances by Joyce DiDonato and (surprise) Rolando Villazon are offset by some undistinguished singing from most of the rest of the cast and, crucially, a conductor who fails to hold this sprawling work together with some terrible lapses of energy. This doesn't bode well for the Nozze that is due out later this year...

EJ

Another DG Don Giovanni, but this one has aged well.
