What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Came in the mail a few days ago.  Nice packaging.  Great sound.  First listen.  Disc 1 (of 3) from 11 May.

Just been on dead.net to look at the tracklist. I only know one of the concerts - the Alabama one - which is good but not stonking (eg Cornell the same month). What do you reckon? Worth buying?

Hi Kevin,

So far I have only listened to the May 11 show.  And I do like it.  I tend to like this era from the band.  For me, so far, it was worth buying.  But I don't have many bootlegs, like some people do.  A friend of mine has a lot of bootlegs, but bought this since he didn't have these shows from the Spring tour.  In his case, he was completing his collection.

The packaging is very nice, but not a fan of paper in general.  I think I will be moving the CDs to PC so I can keep it in good condition.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Pat

Apart from Tin Spirits, Dave Gregory is also involved with Big Big Train. I might get the English Electric albums at some stage. Also Dave confirmed on Facebook that Steven Wilson has completed the 5.1 mix of Nonsuch and sounds very good. I guess it will be packaged like the King Crimson 40th CD/DVD format.
