What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

I managed to find a reasonably priced japanes reedition of this set which I only had on vinyl (which isn't much use if one no longer has a turntable).

This set is my favourite Poulenc interpretation of all Poulenc performances I heared.

Cheers

Patk,

How is the Corinne Tucker cd? I enjoyed the Wild Flag LP last year, which includes the other two members of Sleater-Kinney in the group.

Hi Matt,

I think it is good.  Since you like Wild Flag (which I have as well), I think you will enjoy this.  I found out she did an album previous to this one.  It is more acoustic, Corin's new release is more rockin'.  The first song is kind of fun; it's a "hey, i'm back".

Best regards,

Pat

Great choices, Steve. Each one a true gem, especially Nick's poetry.

Landed on the mat this morning and rather good it is too. Comes with CD and if you buy from Amazon you get a free download of the album as well

+1. Only getting around to listening tonight. Great first impression and a v good quality pressing. Totally silent background with great dynamics.

Indeed, Kev. One of those bands with immense talent who should have made it big but never managed to break through.

Steve, I did see part of  The Seeds performance and was blown away by Mercy Seat. Always been a huge fan. Enjoy it!
