With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Journey to the Centre of the Earth, inspired by Jules Verne.

1974: Rick Wakeman performs live with the London Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Choir, and a group of hand-picked musicians for his band which later became The English Rock Ensemble.

One of my all time favourites.

Joseph Haydn piano works, a double CD with Ragna Schirmer performing on the piano. A Stefan recommendation.

John Mayall on vinyl, in the garden with the patio doors wide open on a fine summer evening here in York:

Stereo versions...must track the original MONO releases down.

OK prejudice proves unfounded

Heard a track playing while my kids were playing Raving Rabbids on the Wii

That sounds good I thought, tracked it down and it's by this bloke, play it on Spotify, top stuff, buy album from Amazon for a quid. Turns out he won X Factor some years ago! Shit, I've been rumbled.
