What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Also old vinyl. Original 1st press. SQ is awesome. Rocking on a wet Saturday afternoon.

UK first press.Picked it up yesterday for £10

How do women do it 5 minutes in and she shouts out from the kitchen "You know I can't stand The Who"

19 years of marriage, I've never owned or listened to this ever so how the hell did she know it was the Who.

Fans of The 'oo might like to know that the documentary about the making of this wonderful album is repeated on BBC4 TV this evening.

Cheers John. Will have to sky+ that. Lucky she's back on earlies next week so I get an hour of music I like before work.

Very fine, well recorded album.  I have heard I Musici de Montreal live several times and this recording certainly evokes the best of those performances.

Is it a turquoise version  Steve? They tend to be a bit pricey!

It will sound just as good Steve. The only difference is the cover, albeit an expensive cover.

I also have the Classic Records versions which are nearly but not quite as good as the 1st presses.

Nice work. I just clicked on 'date' at my link, and it seems plenty are going for loads this year: £2051, anyone?

CC my local SH record shop has a copy.Sold it on fleabay for £420 seller returned it because the cover had a tiny pin hole in it. The vinyl is not in that good a condition so I offered him £200 just for the cover,He said no

My Naim player doesn't have a 'repeat' function. Never the less, this disc is always being played twice (at least) before taken off the machine.

Very quiet old vinyl recording by the Metropolitan Opera Company record Club.  The vocals are clear and still sparkling.  Unfortunately only the abridged edition, leaves you wanting more when it ends.

Recent mail from Naim, nice drum sound, vocals similar to Kings of Leon.
