What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Haim,

was going to listen Schumann sonatas,

tried just a little Davidsbundlertanze but couldn't get into the feel of it which can only mean I’m obviously not in the Schumann mood tonight so best leave off.

So on with the Ludwig Van.

i find Hewitt's Pathétique fresh and moving, every note absorbing into the deep recesses of my mind. The Fazioli sound is rather nice also.

This Moravec guy must be extremely brilliant

thanks for the youtube link, i will enjoy later

Moravec's Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4 is one of my favourite. Bösendorfer sounds great on vinyl, too.

Best thing to emerge from Australia in a long time. 3rd album shows no sign of let up from these boys.
