What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Graveyard - Hisingen Blues is highly recommended album, and it sounds particularly good (those dudes are especially keen on that, I talked with them after one gig in Helsinki some time ago).

The latest remaster, released about a week ago.  I know . . . how many versions of this is there?  But this one is (finally) really good.

Sergei Rachmaninov: Leonard Elschenbroich (Cello), Alexei Grynyuk (Piano)

Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor, Op. 19

Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op. 147

Vocalise, Op. 34: no 14

I always have room to like another Rachmaninov Cello Sonata and this is no exception.  The Andante is probably the highlight as Elschenbroich/Grynyuk give it the air to breath that it requires.  Excellent playing and ensemble work though.  Petty and such a minor thing I know but my only reservation is the piano sound.  I believe it to be a Yamaha and to my ears I was wishing for something else (like a good Hamburg Steinway).  A personal thing that wouldn't matter to anyone else on the planet.
