What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Sierra Hull - Daybreak

Some bluegrass for the start of the day.  Many see her in a similar vein to Alison Krauss.

Well, I think it all comes down with personal preferences. I like Tomi Joutsen's era because he is more versatile vocalist than Pasi Koskinen. So, missing from my listening list was Eclipse -album which was first with Toni behind the microphone. It features hit songs "Smoke" and "House of Sleep" and my wife at least likes them. In fact that album was the one that got her along the "Amorphis train". My personal favorite is Tales From The Thousand Lakes, an earlier material and more death metal than progressive metal. That might not do the trick for her, but you could try AM Universum.

Now I'm a bit different mood and therefore Morphine's Yes is playing. I love the saxophone in this album...

My wife hates death metal but the skyforger album is one of her favorites.I think it's the mix of clean and death vocals she doesn't mind. One of the many albums i've had to buy on CD and vinyl, still don't trust her with my vinyl even after 19 years of marriage
