What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

This is one I overlooked last year. However having read some great reviews of their current tour, decided to give it a go. I am so glad I did, it is an excellent eclectic album between David Byrne and St Vincent’s Annie Clark. Chiefly constructed around brass band instrumentation it is difficult to describe, but it really grabs your attention. As does the strange cover photo.

On Vinyl.

Just warming up with Bob Dylan "Freewheelin' Outtakes - The Columbia Sessions, NYC, 1962" before I get to the main event this evening........Vol 10.....and these Freewheelin' Outtakes are absolutely fantastic early Dylan ...so full of energy and youth as if he has just walked off the street and strapped on his guitar and harp - which he probably did!

Just received it on vinyl along with Vol 10.

Hi Tony.

Agree it's  a genuine classic. This Japanese issue is also a joy.

Regards Graham.

In the mood. No waves here but a healthy thunderstorm running its course before sundown.

Listening to my benchmark [pretty awful sounding when I first bought it but surprisingly good now] record after a sneaky minor system change - and very impressed

speaking to the heart when you have lost somebody..

Well I enjoyed this so much yesterday evening that I was up this morning playing it again.

But it was 6 o'clock in the morning and my wife did not quite say "What's this sh**t" but "My God he does groan on in the morning!"

As always.....not to everyones taste!

Deceased - Surreal Overdose

This belongs to the "better death metal" category (there are of course other, but cover arts are a bit too disturbed to post here, like this isn't though ).
