What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 01 January 2013

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Your first post? Welcome to the forum! : )

Debs

Thanks.

No I am not really new to the Naim forum, being the former pe-zulu, but maybe you do not remember me. I had forgotten the password to the zulu account and decided to reregister using a more convenient username. I can see, that my zulu account is still active, and it probably ought to become inactivated, but nowhere can I find a link to the administrator, and the PM option seems to have disappeared.

Poul, of course i remember you!

You're one of the guys i've missed from this forum, and bet many here have too and will be very pleased with your return.

What music are you presently enjoying these days?

best regards

Debs

Hello Debs

Thanks for your kind words.

Well, J S Bach (and to some extent Beethoven) are my daily bread, but at the moment I listen particularly to Baroque keyboard music (Cabezon, Sweelinck, Byrd, Merulo, Frescobaldi, Froberger, Weckmann, Scheidemann, Buxtehude and so on). Many of the CDs are pure gems, which ought to be better known, so I think I shall post some of my listening experience, even if I earlier found the posting of pictures too complicated. I suppose I have to upload picture files to some file-sharing site, and use the URL“s which are assigned to the pictures by the site.

Regards

Poul

Dear Poul,

Welcome back from George Fredrik! Like you I have a new membership!

Can you send me an email.

My old address still works I think, so try that, or else we'll have to think up a way of exchanging email addresses, which I am loath to do on the Forum nowadays.

Best wishes from George

Dear George

Thank you very much. I shall send you an email soon to the old address. If you have not received it within about 30 minutes, we can conclude, that the address does not work.

Nor do I favor the idea of posting my email address in the forum.

Kindest regards

Poul

Dear Poul,

I think I could ask Richard Dane to make the introduction to my new address given the ten year plus history of discussions between us here in the Music Room.

I'll write to him tomorrow if no email arrives.

So much has happened in the last two years, mostly good, and the poor bits don't matter!

I hope life goes well with you!

ATB from George

To attract a mods attention why don't you just report one of your posts and put the reason/question in the dialogue box.

Michelangelli's Beethoven Sonata No.32 Op. 111.

Expressive and sensitively played. He does not have an intensity of fellow Italian Pollini's intensity but the still waters run deep.
