What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Nice album (listening on Spotify). Another Charlie Haden duo album, this time with Keith Jarrett on piano, worth a hearing:

Night and the City is a Haim recommended listen from the past.  I also was listening on Spotify.  Kenny Barron is pure class on the piano.

Hard to believe this album is nearly 20 years old. Popped it in today for the first time in years, forgot how innovative it was. unorthodox guitar tuning and tight drum sound really makes it unique.

Just back from a Holiday In The Sun, very nice, and have now powered up my system  and warmed it up with some Dylan (vol 10), early Neil (1st few albums) and then after a few hours Eric Burdon.

Why Eric? because I can't get enough of him at present as he and his band just sound there!

I see he is on tour largely in Germany soon and I am wondering if I could make one of his gigs there?

Emailed his web site to say we need some more UK dates, maybe he will read it you never know as I once got a personal response from Roger McGuinn (The Byrds).

One of the all time great albums in my view, and on debut too.
