What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Music in the car today:

Giovanni Guidi: City of Broken Dreams

Rattle/City of Birmingham Symphony: Petrushka

Surprisingly decent albeit can't help to think it sounds like a soundtrack for Pixar Anime from time to time.

Another gem on this disc is the Apollo. Stravinsky's lesser known pieces can be a real treat.

Never realised it came out on cd. My copy is a extraction of the music from the DVD.

This. Other 'Frapp fans - is not the opener, "Jo", one of the loveliest things you've heard in years?

Thanks,

It is from 2003 I don't think it is as good an album as her later stuff but still worth tracking down but very rare.

Thanks for that.  Will keep an eye out.
