After the dissappointing "Trio Libero" ECM album British saxophonist Andy Sheppard is back to form on a further collaboration with Carla Bley and Steve Swallow playing five Bley penned pieces. Recommended.
First one since coming in from work Sandy on Vinyl very relaxing....

I've been waiting for my copy on order with Amazon uk £31.66 [the price has gone up since].
They suggest it will be October delivery.
Really looking forward to this on vinyl, have the CD already.
What's the vinyl quality like?

Enjoyable first play on CD. In time I'll compare with the vinyl, as I bought the deluxe box. Stunning artwork & a music score included. Now I need to learn how to play the Piano

Ito Ema: Goldberg Variations
Kuma, Jeremy Denk (who just won the MacArthur Ginius Foundation award of $625,000) is going to performs the variation in Symphony Hall on October 13. Are you going?
I'd join you too but I need way more heads-up time. By foot it will take at least 43 days to get there.
I hope to have his Goldberg's recording before the 13th. You are so lucky to be able to see so many artists live...

How about Andras Schiff Playing Bach Partitas 1-6 on October 27? This is a bit more tempting than the Goldberg Variations.
It is Kuma who goes to all the concerts. The only two I attended this year were Paul Lewis and Marc-Andre Hamelin.
If you get the Denk recording, don't forget to tell us how it is.
