A nice compilation from Le Poéme Harmonique's CDs; the main tone is on the mesmerizing 'Oscinato' of the Early Music.

"...the traditional music of Veracruz, called son jarocho originated in Spain, came to Mexico with Conquistadores, and in its own way, is alive and well int the towns and villages of the Golf Coast. There is some kind of magic in the son jarocho music, it's so simple and yet so complex, just theese three chords strummed time an again; you understand how it works in a couple of minutes and then you spend the rest of your life learning it and exploring the world of contains."

(from the booklet)

Highly recommended.

Metallica - Load.  A very underrated album of theirs IMO. Some great songs on this.
