What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Double CD. Constantly on the verge of MOR, but really, really groovy. GREAT drumming from trevor Morais too.

Johann Sebastian Bach:  András Schiff (Piano)

Partita for Keyboard no 1 in B flat major, BWV 825

Partita for Keyboard no 2 in C minor, BWV 826

Partita for Keyboard no 3 in A minor, BWV 827

Partita for Keyboard no 4 in D major, BWV 828

Partita for Keyboard no 5 in G major, BWV 829

Partita for Keyboard no 6 in E minor, BWV 830

As a consequence of spending all my disposable income and then some on recordings apparently the only way I will be able to see András Schiff playing the Six Partitas is in my head on my well worn listening chair in the music room.  Well I guess I have several videos of Schiff playing Bach too.

Haim, enjoy the concert

Eek !! Just seen this patk. Sorry for late response ! It's a wonderful CD/DVD. Just seen Ruthie, live, here at the Rawa Blues Festival in Poland. Marvelous. More people should get to know this lady.
