What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

It is Ewemon. Have you heard Moon Duo, which has Ripley from Wooden Shjips on guitar?

To be honest I had heard of them but never really gave them a listen. Time to do so I think and thanks for reminding me Kevin.

By the way what album do you think I should start with? Circles?

Just received in the post the most recent Mary Black album Full Tide. As with all her other CDs the quality of the recording is excellent and as a long-standing Mary Black fan I always enjoy her material.

As a consequence of spending all my disposable income and then some on recordings apparently the only way I will be able to see András Schiff playing the Six Partitas is in my head on my well worn listening chair in the music room.  Well I guess I have several videos of Schiff playing Bach too.

Haim, enjoy the concert

Doug, thanks for reminding me that I have this recording. I will listen to it before going to bed.
