What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

A great album, I agree. I've already got two CD versions but I'd be very interested to try a high-def download. So, Graham, would might saying from what site you got the download from please?

BBC Radio Scotland live from Celtic Connections. Two, two hour programmes tonight and just realised that there has been two hour programmes all week so looks like catch up on the web over the weekend.  Unfortunately only at 80 mbs whereas from 11pm BBC Radio 3, World on 3 will be broadcasting live from Celtic Connections at (hopefully) 320 mbs.  Go on, you know you want to be in Glasgow.

Eagles. Their Greatest Hits 1971-75.  On vinyl from 1976.  Nice embossed cover art.  Over 42 million copies sold.

For all the play I gave this during my teen years, it still has wonderful SQ.  I just noticed for the first time tonight the inscriptions in the run out groove.

Beethoven Triple Concerto. I don't care for the balance. Piano is completely buried in the back.

+1 for Katatonia mentioned a couple of posts above.

Now spinning is new Dr. John. Pretty sweet record for all blues, funk, soul and maybe even jazz fans out there.

It's been reported that last year 4 million new vinyl was sold.

It puts me in a perspective how tiny the current vinyl market is compared to its heyday.

Great album. I think the description "lean, mean & funky" was used somewhere
