What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Bert, I love Debussy's piano music. How do the Preludes on this version compare to Zimerman's?

Another exceptional performance of Debussy's Preludes belongs to Michelangeli:

Sonata for Gamba.

When it comes to the sound of Harpsichord, I am with Sir Thomas Beechum who quoted something to the effect of two skeletons copulating on a tin roof in a thunderstorm.

I've picked this record up due to the interesting credits: Nikolaus Harnoncourt as Gamba/ViolinCelo player and Frans Brüggen as a flutist.

Fabulous two-LP collection of French electronica from the 1970s. Nicely packaged, both discs on transparent vinyl and comes with a free CD version.

Hi Dave, hope your enjoying it. Gill's solo band are excellent 'live', which includes two more members of the Emily Barker Band. I like the way Gill has arranged the backing vocals and how the songs open out when required.
