What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Back to The Dame, on vinyl. I'm playing it again because it really is extraordinarily good.

I had not heard of this release, Fango.  Had to google it. Nice setlist.  What color vinyl did you get?

The Cow Palace was the same venue as "Live Rust" - a great LP with big, live acoustics.

How's the sound on this one?

It consists of 3 LPs one in red, one in blue and one in white in a nice box set.

SQ is good.

Khovanshchina, Mussorgsky's unfinished masterpiece (here in a performing edition by Shostakovich and Stravinsky). A brilliant recording, taped during performances in Vienna, in 1989.

Cheers,

A modern classic. I also have the 45rpm vinyl box-set. Unplayed as I have no TT .

Vinyl.

Brilliant album. I much prefer Bowie's early stuff eg this and Ziggy S.

On vinyl - First listen and enjoying it - but a strangely melancholy experience

Vinyl.

Can't say I listened to more than 10 minutes of it.  Definitely the last time I listen to concrete music.
