What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

+1 on the soundtrack Fatcat. The film's completely bonkers thou.

Can't say I've heard of the film, and must agree with Kevin's comment.

I came across the CD by chance. Last week I bought a job lot of old hifi separates at an auction, somebody had left the CD in the CD player.

Wouldn't recommend the film unless you like scantily clad young ladies fighting 30 foot samurai, nazi zombies, fire breathing dragons and killer robots and a story line that makes no sense even on the second watch

I actually would find part of that plot interesting but.... only if society deems it acceptable.  Which brings me back to my original problem.

David Gilmour. On vinyl from 1978. I'm thoroughly enjoying this recent s/h buy. Vinyl is dead quiet, great SQ, and the music is fantastic.

I can't seem to get off this Ravel kick lately.

Still going through Cluyten's Ravel work. Every one of them is a joy and wonder to listen to. He's got the right knack, in my mind at least, for composer's intention rendering a highly visual musical scape without being trite or theatrical. Sensual and touch of supernatural.
