What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Hi Chris,

Sorry for the delayed reply.  Yes, I do like this one quite a bit.  Will make sure to give it a few more listens this week.

Best regards,

Pat

Thanks Pat, very glad. I've only played it three times myself but am very taken. Kind of reminds me of something, in a good way, but I don't know what. No matter.

Best, Chris

I did Kevin and liked it. What did you reckon? It took me back to thoughts of class 4B but was obviously so much more vivid than our straight reading aloud, despite Mr Jenkins' best efforts. I know I'm going to be listening to Homage to Catalonia on the Listen Again...

Cheers,

Chris

Floid - I'd be interested in what you think of it, esp if you have any of the other vinyl versions to compare it to.

But the rest defeat me. Please do complete the list

I have an original copy of this and compared to that this has a lot more weight to the sound, much more fuller sounding and quite a bit more detail in the background. This version is the single vinyl not the 45rpm double that is also available.

I hope that my description helps, I'm crap at describing how things sound. The pressing is very good. In other words i'm happy with it.

MDS and Kevin, if I may chip in...

Man in a suitcase

Jason King

Don't think that nails it though.
