What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread. I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.
Anyway, links:

Danger Man
Randel & Hopkirk
The Persuaders
Man from Uncle
The Saint
The Champions (isn't Alexandra Bastedo stunning?)
But the rest defeat me. Please do complete the list

My No1 go to Blues album at the moment.
Graham.
Good taste Graham. I just bought an Otis Spann album on eBay. I'll let you know what it's like.
Steve
Steve, I will look forward to your review as always. If its not being to cheeky how much did you pay for your copy of Sticky Fingers. I have seen one for £40 but not sure if its a good price.
Graham.

The Hagen Quartett are unique in bringing a smooth, glossy approach to Beethoven. Their Op.127, all gently rolling hills and lovely pastures where the Quartetto Italiano see giant barren rock formations, is most typical and also one of the best of the series. Within their idiom, the Hagens play with plenty of give and take, and gentle humor.
Cheers,
EJ

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours. Arrived this morning the new Remaster on Vinyl
Floid - I'd be interested in what you think of it, esp if you have any of the other vinyl versions to compare it to.
I have an original copy of this and compared to that this has a lot more weight to the sound, much more fuller sounding and quite a bit more detail in the background. This version is the single vinyl not the 45rpm double that is also available.
I hope that my description helps, I'm crap at describing how things sound. The pressing is very good. In other words i'm happy with it.
Thanks Floid, yes your description helps. I have an original that's a bit noisy. Looking to get another vinyl copy. It's been reissued in 2004, 2011, and 2013, as well as the 45 rpm you noted. I guess the latest ought to be the greatest, but who knows? 45 rpm probably best SQ, but too much record changing. Cheers.

Listened to the Interesting Alternative show again tonight with Steve and Kavus with Jerry Ewing and Jo Kendall from Prog magazine. http://www.phoenixfm.com/categ...ng-alternative-show/
Among the tracks selected by Jerry & Jo was music from Antlered Man & Gizmo. I bought a CD from both bands.

Clifton Chenier. Boogie & Zydeco. On vinyl from 1979. Sonet Records.
Anyone else here have this record? It’s made in England. I came across this in the s/h shop and recalled Clifton Chenier mentioned by Paul Simon in the song “That Was Your Mother” on Graceland. So I grabbed it and am glad I did. Zydeco is the genre. Very upbeat, lively, soulful, jazzy, accordion-driven music. A fun listen.
This is a beautifully done new classical music release.
Ravel's String Quartet in F major by Guarneri Quartet titled French Album No. 1 Released in 2011 by a US Label Lancia Media Factory.
No frills in terms of packaging ( except for the classy Avedon cover photo ) but the sound quality is exceptional for a current non audiophile-priced release.
Free from the confines of a major label she has produced her best album yet.
Features Jackson Browne, Jackob Dylan amongst others.
Listening to one of his old discs in prep for his new one due out on the 26th Feb. The samples from the new up and coming disc are as good as always.
