What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Bob Dylan "Time Out Of Mind"

John Lennon - Shaved Fish

When this first came out I played it and played it and now this is the first time for many a year.

It has a certain sound, vibe and feeling from way back when that just sends me back.

p.s. The version of Imagine on this first pressing sounds so much better than an MFSL version I have played before this LP.

A vital, atmospheric performance of Prokofiev's second violin concerto, stunningly recorded.

Cheers,

The studio LP is the one that gives people gyp: apparently even the band don't think much of it. However I think it's wonderful: the Floyd at their experimental best.

There's a great sense of optimism, of moving forward, about the whole double album. Whenever I'm a bit down in the dumps or stumped for an idea I put this on for insiration.

I've just put this on for a spin. I haven't played it in years. The live album is very well recorded. I lost my 1st press in the divorce,  but this A4 EMI Harvest copy from the '70s is pretty good, if a little noisy on the run in.

..another spin this is really good, saw Aaron first at North Sea Jazz, but he had a supporting role there...

These Japanese CDs are the best Zep CDs I have heard.

Kevin - if you don't mind me asking, where did you source this? All my Led Zep CDs are poor or just about ok. I'd love to get some decent ones.
