What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Hi EJ,

If it's your disc for an island, then I would like to get it as well. Your recommendations have been quite good so far.

Cheers,

Bert

Bert, absolutely recommended but I have to warn you that my island is fairly well stocked with CDs

Cheers,

EJ

Mine as well, if we would have the same Island - we would have quite an entertaining retreat - assuming the Island also has electricity and a modest Naim Kit :-)

I never tire of Abbey Road. A well produced CD, too.

Steve,

That is indeed an exceedingly well recorded album. Two other albums that I use as reference are these:

Worth a listen but MUST be original releases, as if you needed me to tell you.

Best,

Tony

Cheers Tony.

I am still (after listening to it five times) having difficulties with this album. The piano is being played beautifully, the sound is excellent yet the music leaves me cold.
