In Absentia - Porcupine Tree
A great album and maybe not what you would expect.

Fine inner details and polished 'n' refined presentation. More or less played straight up.
I think I prefer Gardiner set better for HIP set as it generates more temperamental and firery excitement.
On a unusual black CD.

Wand's Beethoven is one of my reference performance for the 9th. Recorded in mi80s but the RCA did a great job remastering for this 2001 reissue box set. It sounds so effortless at climax without any congestions.

Both Brendel and Cooper are having a bad hair day on the cover but their playing is lovely.
Strictly genteel.

a really high energy performance of "Space Ritual v.2" on compact disc followed by the more polished studio enhanced double cd set of "Space Ritual" by Hawkwind.

^ I enjoyed it. Found Tim Piggott-Smith's voice kept reminding me of Roger Allam's.
