What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread. I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

...his make up is good, how does he play ?
...and it's better than mine, but his play really is fantastic imho

Debs
This is a fantastic recording, fantastic pianism and a the Berliner Philharmonicer with a great conductor ........
Maybe close to the optimum in therms of balance between piano und orchestra
Wings. Back To The Egg. On vinyl from 1979.
Over easy and sunny side up, Wings' final LP.
This, on vinyl.
Here's why:
Last night I went to a friend's birthday do in Hackney and ended up having a drink and a chat with one of my heroines, the very lovely and very beautiful Viv Albertine, guitarist with the above beat combo. I can't believe she is 59, and looks like this:
Viv told me that the secret to staying young was staying out of the sun.

Catching up on 17 days of free hi-res music downloaded. Not all to my taste but an interesting selection of artists and music and all sounding very good.
On CD. Messy, chaotic, great.
Original Harvest vinyl 1970
Nice one Steve, not played that for ages, I'll rectify it soon.
Now on CD, to finish off the box set:-

Well, I did have a massive crush on her when I was 15/16 (see below - that's her on the left, obviously)
Now I know mud is supposed to be good for the skin, but I have to say she is even more beautiful now - 35 years on - in the flesh and seems to get better looking as she gets older (I have met her a number of times before).
Fly, by Yoko Ono on Ryko Jap CD
This is a very interesting album. Its full of sounds from my childhood. Is the first time it has been made available on vinyl in its original form. Its not an album that I will play a lot but worth having in my collection. File under 'Quirky'.

Kev, im by no stroke of the imagination an expert on women, but do you not suspect that you may be worshipping at the wrong altar here ? It's the same with this strange Borgen fixation you have... I mean she may appear physically attractive, but wouldn't you say there is something slightly....mannish...about her?
Looking forward to Kev's reply to this…
Thought it was about time I bought some ...
The "Album" from Amazon on mp3 - (Actually 1 track, nice though) Soldier of Fortune
