What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

I noticed the KJP reference earlier too and so bought it on a whim. I only have 'Sky As.....' but I'm guessing he's an artist I'll acquire more of.

This is nice Susanna; Flower Of Evil. Ordered as Vinyl came as a CD but worth keeping. Twelve cover versions and two originals from Susanna. With guest appearance by Bonnie "Prince" Billy on Jailbreak & Without You. I love the slow pace of this. Sparse and beautiful--mostly her and a piano.

A selection of early Porcupine Tree. I only discovered PT this year after purchasing the Raven album by Steven Wilson and am finding it quite addictive, although I've not yet discovered anything quite as brilliant as the Raven album.

Sadly this is another K-Scope CD which was damaged somewhere in the manufacturing process, with an easily visible scar around the outside edge of disc one. This means the last track won't rip on the NS01, nor will it play in a CD drive.Shame because the music is rather enjoyable.

Make sure you find a copy of 'On the Sunday of Life', early 90's as MM said 'on the cusp of eye watering greatness...'

What connects Wind of Change to Talking Book?

Does your copy of Talking Book have braille on the jacket?

I can see a connection between Frampton and Talking Book but not with Wind of Change. Frampton recorded I Believe from Talking Book on his next LP Frampton's Camel.

Thats what I have gone with Steve. One other thing that connects Stevie and Jeff is that Superstition was originally written for Beck to record.

The Beatles. Something New. On orange label Capitol vinyl 1976 pressing.

A gift from Christmas 1977. Christmases were very good to my Beatles LP collection when I was an early teen .
