What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Calexico playing the UK later this month. Thought I'd better buy their latest album, nothing I wasn't expecting, yet another great album. Cant wait for the concert.

The famous French 5-step dance; was enormously popular from 1430.

Many say - me too - it's the best AliaVox.

Highly recommended.

Almost ready to give up on Shostakovich, until I dug up this one from my own archive. Hauntingly beautiful, biting and relevant, this is fantastic music. Supremely well played, too.

Cheers,

Concerto for Piano in A minor, Op. 54 by Robert Schumann

Concerto for Piano no 9 in E flat major, K 271 "Jeunehomme" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

I need a perk up after a gruelling day and this is working admirably.

I get my cover pics at amazon, when you have the cover, cursor on cover, control key and "click" (mouse or pad on laptop), select "copy image address", come to this thread click reply, "click" the icon just to the left of the smiley in the task bar, place your cursor in the top line of the box and use "command" key and the letter V, the "address " should appear in the box, click the blank window and the cover should appear, add narrative if needed/wanted, click "submit reply"

hope that makes sense.
