What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

On Silver!

On CD. One of the very few stone-cold classics from the late 1990s. I had forgotten how good this was.

How are things with you, is the vinyl still sounding good?

Hi Andy

Yes this is vinyl from Rockbox yesterday. I think this might be a dodgy pressing as end of side A sounds distorted. I will listen to second disc this morning (double vinyl) but will probably return it for replacement. Apart from pressing problem I like what I've heard so far.

LP12 is sounding fab.

Am now thinking about better record cleaner to further improve sound.

How is your system sounding?

Graham

Glad to hear you are still enjoying the LP12, interesting you are thinking of a better RCM to improve the sound further. I have the Moth now which gets regular use.

Please let me know how you get on with the Alicia Keys LP, I have been thinking of getting it myself.

My system is sounding great thanks, quite a few upgrades to my LP12, as you can see from my profile, most notably the Radikal!!

Now saving for an EkosSE to replace my ageing Ittok.

Audiovectors still sound stunning!

Cheers,

Andy.

Hi Graham, how did you get on with the AK LP, did you end up returning it?

Brgds, Andy.

You could be in possession of a valuable collectors item there G! Just checked mine & they appear to be ok, assuming disc 1 starts with "The Man-Machine"?

Howard, Graham,

My Richard Thompson LP didn't arrive today. Hopefully tomorrow. Is it good?

Hi Steve,

I have not listened to the whole album, just side 1&2 . Side one finds RT in a folk sort of groove which I did not expect . Side 2 is typical RT. My pressing is v good flat & with no surface noise SQ does not sound to digital. So what I have heard so far it sounds good.

Graham.
