What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.IX)

With 2013 upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Very-very good music.

At first suggested to taste it only.

Around 6'- ladies performance  unbelievable.

Original Vinyl 1968 Decca. British recording with Chicken Shack as backing to Errol Dixon on the piano. Some sympathetic blues guitar from Stan Webb. A lovely blues album for a Sunday evening.

Another to recommended Graham but an original is pricey.

The only time Art Pepper and Zoot Sims jammed together was on the campus of UCLA in 1981.  Our loss, because they sounded great together! Luckily, this 1995 CD captured the performance with fine sound quality, and I am sure that fans of cool "west coast" jazz will enjoy It.

Listening to Heartplay on the Naim label. One of my 3 for £30 deals from the Bristol Show. Really happy with the deal.

I fancied a laugh - this always makes me smile, especially "Smelly Tongues" and the reaction (bafflement or anger) it provokes is always entertaining.

Vinyl. Coz - as as has been pointed out elsewhere, its author would have been 70 today.

This is a lovely final album from George - full of that beautiful slide guitar, wry humour, poignant lyrics and strong tunes not to mention his adored uke.
