Symform a cloud backup solution

A few weeks back I looked for updates to my readynas 2 firmware, and found support for a cloud backup sollution called symform.

Interesting features of this backup is,  Instead of paying for storage you let Symform access your nas as part of the cloud backup. You get 10 gb free, and as long as you give twice the amount of disk space you are backing up the service is free. If you cannot let Symform access that much local storage space on your network, you can pay for extra backup.

I managed to get my music backed up to audiosafe but you need to have a pc turned on all the time, and you do not know if it eventually will cost money to get the music restored when you need it.

Symform can run on a pc, mac Linux, and more interestingly Readynas, qnap and synology nas. I am not sure if all models from Synology and Qnap are supported. I had some strange problems getting the app up and running on my Readynas, but when it finally worked you do not need to worry about it, and you will get mail alerts if something is not working, and status mails if you want it. To get the app to work, your router must support upnp, or you may have to setup port forwarding if upnp does not work.
